A search is done on how the topic is treated through the architecture career. Al the files of the courses given at the Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo, Universidad de Concepción, Uruguay were checked and through their analysis a description is made of what they say it is taught. The point of view of the students was also used, making clear that an attempt was made at determining not what the students have learnt but rather what they can say they have learnt; their difficulties, their preferences and those aspects which they recognize as failures. Then the statements made by the students were compared to the objectives of the Housing course, in this case through design and finally the achievements, which were made, are described. El trabajo aborda ciertos aspectos de la práctica de proyecto de vivienda. Para indagar en el tratamiento del tema a lo largo de toda la carrera de arquitectura. Para estos efectos se recurre al archivo de los programas de las materias que se dictan en la Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo de la Universidad de Concepción del Uruguay y, a través de su análisis se describe lo que los programas dicen que se enseña. Se utilizó un método de acercamiento al tema desde la perspectiva de los alumnos, dejando claro que no se trata de verificar lo que los alumnos han aprendido sino de lo que pueden decir que aprendieron; sus dificultades, sus gustos y aquellos aspectos que reconocen como falencias. Luego se confronta las declaraciones de los estudiantes con los objetivos de la Cátedra de Vivienda, en este caso a través de la vertiente del diseño y se concluye en reconocer los aciertos logrados dentro del universo que se estudió.
