Through a theoretical review and the reconstruction of a community experience, we discuss around the factors which have an influence on the perception of security and towards the end of the paper, evaluation indicators for such perception are considered. El artículo aborda el tema de la evaluación de la percepción de seguridad/inseguridad de ser víctima de actos delictuales en conjuntos residenciales urbanos, tema comúnmente dejado de lado en la planificación de la política social. A través de una revisión teórica y de la reconstrucción de una experiencia comunitaria, se reflexiona en torno a los factores que inciden en la percepción de seguridad definiendo, finalmente, indicadores de evaluación de dicha percepción.
