| Resumo: | Constituting one of most dynamic sectors within the metropolitan region, Santiago's urban fringe is relevant from social, demographic and territorial standpoints. Small land subdivisions used for recreational or residential purposes, individual housing units, condominiums, and social housing supported by the central state apparatus, contribute all to shape this particular urban landscape. Taking studies conducted recently in the Municipalities of Pirque, Calera de Tango, Padre Hurtado and Lampa I offer an interpretation of the geographic configuration of this newly constructed space. |
