In doing that, its analyses the location of such street markets on the urban structure of Quilicura, Santiago, by using the theory and methodology known as Space Syntax, developed nearly thirty years ago in the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London. The results show that, despite the fact that street markets do not locate on the main roads of Quilicura (and therefore do not interrupt vehicular traffic),they distribute almost homogeneously on the district’s urban structure, creating well defined areas of influence that produce a sort of “local urban economies”.
