Summary:Starting from the unavoidable certainty that all strategy tending to the sustainability of the human settlements requires unfailingly systematic programs of energy substitution, the massive application of the climatic offer in the construction of the regional habitat is an essential component in the substitution of the renewable energy resources. The present work presents some recommendations of bioclimatic urban design, results of researches carried out by the Area Arquitectura Ambiental belonging from the Facultad de Arquitectura y Diseño, on San Juan’s city (Argentina), located in the South American arid fringe.
