Description
Summary:This work reports on field methods and instruments tested in rural areas in the Northwest of Argentina, used to study the pathology of earth buildings. The main objective is to identify and describe structural, internal and surface pathologies of walls, roofs and plasters in buildings included in the Architectural Heritage, in three different climates. This study is focused on relationship between the buildings and their environment. Parallel to this, the instruments’ performance was tested and buildings’ durability was evaluated. Furthermore, earth and cement mortar samples were analyzed at laboratory and chronological diagrams were established to compare constructive pathologies or damages.
