This is why the physical-spatial approach, associated with the material and spatial constitution of housing or inhabitable spaces, has been the traditional method to explore this issue. Such a situation has resulted in residential habitat being related to the concept of dwelling as a delimited space associated with some form of ownership. This paper uses a self-ethnographic account to build a dialogue between the concept of residential habitat and the notion of experience, thus offering new possibilities for the conceptualization, questioning and visualization of habitat. Such an exercise introduces the idea of continuity and indivisibility about the experience of inhabiting a given place. Based on the personal experience of inhabiting a house, this contribution reviews a theoretical framework that allows for dialogue between the inhabiting concept and its relationship with both experience and residential habitat. La capacidad de conceptualizar el hábitat residencial está ligada a la forma de problematizarlo. Es de este modo que tradicionalmente se ha optado por un enfoque físico-espacial, relacionado a la constitución material y espacial de la vivienda o de los espacios habitables. Esta situación ha producido que el hábitat residencial sea vinculado, básicamente, a la idea de morada, como un espacio delimitado asociado a una forma de propiedad. A partir de un relato auto etnográfico, el presente artículo construye un diálogo entre el concepto de hábitat residencial y la noción de experiencia, planteando nuevas aperturas a la conceptualización, problematización y visualización del hábitat, introduciendo la idea de continuidad e indivisibilidad de la experiencia de habitar. Utilizando una narración de la experiencia personal de vivir en una vivienda, se revisa un marco teórico que permita dialogar entre el concepto de habitar, su vinculación con la experiencia y la relación con el hábitat residencial.
