| Summary: | Climate change produced by global warming is one of the environmental problems of the 21st century at a global and local level. Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions of anthropogenic origin contribute to climate change in a decisive way. In this work, the carbon footprint of the prototype under study is analyzed: Block for non-bearing vertical enclosures, solved with post-consumer polypropylene plastic, in the stages that include its preparation until its manufacture. The objective is to determine the equivalent amount of carbon dioxide that is emitted into the environment by the manufacture of the designed product. The methodology used is that proposed by the IRAMISO 14040 Standard and the IRAM-ISO 14044 Standard, Life Cycle Analysis. The results obtained in the calculation of the carbon footprint are very encouraging. This makes it possible to assess the incorporation of solid plastic waste in the manufacture of construction elements, favoring the reduction of energy in its different stages of the life cycle and consequently the reduction of emissions of the different greenhouse gases. |
