After his return he wrote down his experiences in a book titled Trips to Africa, Europe and America, published in 1849. Since then, numerous Argentinian intellectuals and artists have visited Spain and written the tales of their journeys around the country. One of the most visited cities by these travellers was Toledo, where many of them saw a summary of the history of Spain. In this article, the perspective that the Argentinian travellers had of the Tajo capital will be analyzed, with focus on the tale by Lilia Rañó de Petracchi, which has been insufficiently studied. Domingo Faustino Sarmiento visitó España en 1846 durante un viaje por Europa. A su regreso a Argentina, dio cuenta de sus experiencias en un libro titulado Viajes por África, Europa y América, publicado en 1849. A partir de entonces, muchísimos intelectuales y artistas argentinos visitaron España y relataron sus viajes en numerosos escritos. Una de las ciudades más visitadas por estos viajeros fue Toledo, donde muchos de ellos vieron un compendio de la historia de España. En este artículo se analiza la visión que los viajeros argentinos tuvieron de la capital del Tajo, centrada en el relato de Lilia Rañó de Petracchi, que ha sido poco estudiado.
