Shrnutí:The research into training trips of regional and urban Argentine planners since the mid-1950s allows a reading of the conditions and the ways in which theoretical and methodological tenets of French scientific Planning are abandoned to give place to the notion of “Planning according to the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC)”, understood as a vehicle for change that allows the reversal of the existing “backwardness” in Latin America. Thus, the American financial strategy for training trips, research, and centers enables the identification of how the territorial model is incorporated for the development in Latin America. We maintain that through trips the actors “incorporate” ideas and theories. However, their implementation at the local level is not direct but mediated by said actors, considering that formative trips allow feedback processes and adaptations which vary over time.
