Gaia:General Paz avenue is a project on urban mobility carried out in Buenos Aires during the twenties and thirties as part of the actions to consolidate the city urban form. Before the construction started, the avenue project shifted from municipal to national administration.The article´s goal is to analyze the space and infrastructure which shaped this border. We take a look at two moments: the first one follows the origin of the idea, the second refers to the project and its construction. In this context, Buenos Aires issues are analyzed, as long with its growing metropolitan area.
