In its own way, the Studio they conformed made an opus on two strings: the recurring technical perfection, which began and ended with the project of each work and was the support of a dialectical spatiality, in Baliero’s mode; and the dialogue between architecture and industry that built it but also, and over all, the creation of a form that organized the program of needs and the city, almost a typology that could transcend the material juncture, in Katzenstein’s speculations.

Horacio Baliero y Ernesto Katzenstein fueron socios desde 1976. Habían estudiado en la Facultad de Arquitectura de la Universidad de Buenos Aires y durante un periodo en el cual la opción de los estudiantes quedó limitada a una posición racionalista según el CIAM, atenta a las ideas de Le Corbusier y la Bauhaus, o a otra “orgánica”, conforme a la reciente producción de Bruno Zevi. A su manera, el Estudio que conformaron realizo un opus a dos cuerdas: la perfección técnica recurrente, que comenzaba y terminaba con el proyecto de cada obra y era el soporte de una espacialidad dialéctica entre interior y exterior, en el modo de Baliero; y el diálogo entre la arquitectura y la industria que la construía, pero también, y sobre todo, la creacion de una forma que organizaba el programa de necesidades y la ciudad, en las especulaciones de Katzenstein. Se trata de una arquitectura sensible y de su representación con los recursos y las reglas pertenecientes al mercado y a la práctica disciplinar.
