The studied work of Kurchan, together with the URBIS group, is recorded in the detected period of greatest historiographic void of the former Austral, a work that dates back to the year 1970, two years before his death. The aim is to demonstrate the relevance of modern concepts used by Kurchan throughout his career, as well as his intention of summarising in a single project the ideas and postulates in which he particularly believed.

El artículo investiga acerca de una obra olvidada y muy poco conocida del Arquitecto Juan Kurchan, referente absoluto de la modernidad en la Argentina y fundador del Grupo Austral (1938). Se propone un análisis en paralelo con un proyecto no construido y de escasa difusión de su maestro, Le Corbusier. La obra estudiada de Kurchan, en conjunto con el grupo URBIS, se registra en el periodo detectado de mayor vacío historiográfico de la trayectoria del ex Austral, obra que data del año 1970, dos años antes de su muerte. Se busca evidenciar la pertinencia de conceptos modernos empleados por Kurchan a lo largo de su carrera, así como su intento por resumir en un solo proyecto las ideas y postulados en los cuales parti­cularmente creía.
