This situation has changed with the recent survey books written by Ching, Jarzombek & Prakash (2007), James-Chakraborty (2014) and Ingersoll (2018), but we still need a better assessment of how the European occupation of the Americas influenced the histories and theories of architecture as we know them. Este ensayo revisa los estudios más importantes de arquitectura global publicadas en inglés para argumentar que antes del siglo XXI las Américas eran solo una ocurrencia tardía.
