In that sense, shelters must provide an adequate response, focusing on spatial characteristics that should be relevant to social and environmental expectations. These work studies which spatial attributes of temporary shelters must be explored through a dimensional approach of public places proposed by Holanda and Kohlsdorf. Designing temporary shelters with a specific regard on the user-environment relationship is an activity that must also be based on the compatibility between the principles of Sustainable Development and Humanitarian Logistics, concepts that will be also approached in this study. From the dimensional approach to places, the authors also present spatial attributes that must be explored when seeking the best possible performance for temporary shelters.Keywords: architecture, emergency shelters, spatial attributes, Humanitarian Logistics, natural disaster. Os abrigos temporários estão diretamente relacionados com a sobrevivência humana nas fases iniciais de um desastre. Nesse sentido, o abrigo deve oferecer uma resposta adequada, com foco em características espaciais pertinentes a expectativas socioambientais. Projetar abrigos temporários com um olhar especial para a relação entre usuário e ambiente é uma atividade que também deve estar pautada na compatibilização entre os princípios de Desenvolvimento Sustentável e de Logística Humanitária, conceitos brevemente discutidos neste trabalho. A partir da abordagem dimensional dos lugares, metodologia desenvolvida por Holanda e Kohlsdorf, são apresentados atributos espaciais que devem ser explorados na busca de um bom desempenho para abrigos temporários, tendo como foco a relação entre usuário e ambiente.Palavras-chave: arquitetura, abrigos temporários, atributos espaciais, Logística Humanitária, desastre natural.
