| Περίληψη: | The importance of the living space transcends functional and aesthetic basic issues to additionally influence both the behavior and attitude of people who live there, as well as their character or mood. The relational potential consists of a value or a sort of capital strongly linked to other capitals, such as fixed and social capitals, among others. This concept is discussed critically taking into account the approaches of several experts in the field, which is done in a few steps: meaning, composition, materialization, scale, use, potential, profitability, and legitimization. It can assume urban functions of integration, qualified connection, and multilevel profit accumulation. All of which makes it a key factor of urban resilience and thus of sustainability, which is useful for planning and public policy.
