Opis
Streszczenie:This article presents the work of the Swiss painter Helmut Federle, which hides, behind an apparent geometric minimalism, a complexity based on sensorial nuances, symbolic references and wanted contradictions. In addition to his individual artistic work, Federle has done several works in collaboration with some architects, such as Herzog & de Meuron, Roger Diener or Adolf Krischanitz. There are important connections between the artist’s paintings and their architecture, which is demonstrated by analysing comparatively the work of both painter and architects, their theoretical arguments, as well as their mutual contributions, and of course their drawings, understood in both cases as a tool for experimentation and spontaneous ideation.Key words: Federle, painting, minimalism, Herzog and de Meuron, Zumthor.
