It is described how the Direct Method starts transgressing the analytical orthodoxy of classical Descriptive Geometry to favor the visual synthesis in acquisition of concepts about three-dimensional space. The validity of subject is given by the continuity in the training Spanish institution of the doctrine of this ancient academic discipline and the associated theoretical-practical imbalance in front of the European Higher Education paradigm. El presente artículo pone de manifiesto la reincidencia del Sistema Diédrico español en dificultades metodológicas ya superadas por la corriente anglosajona del Método Directo. Se describe el modo en que el Método Directo comienza a superar la ortodoxia analítica de la Geometría Descriptiva clásica para favorecer la síntesis visual en la asimilación del concepto tridimensional. La vigencia del tema viene dada por la continuidad en la institución formativa española del cuerpo de doctrina de esta antigua disciplina académica y el desequilibrio teórico-práctico que implica frente al paradigma del Espacio Europeo de la Educación Superior.
