Pensamiento, obra y omisión Rodríguez, Rubén Muñoz In distant and skeptical times with theoretical expositions and a predominantly pragmatic vision, the intention is to investigate relations between the theory and constructed work, making a revision and interpretation of some prominent works of recent Chilean architecture, with the premise that behind everything we do, conscious or unconsciously, we transfer a way to understand and to respond to complexity in reality. With this motive, we concentrated in the particular study of The offices of Panels Arauco, looking for a way to contrast Jose Cruz Ovalle’s approach with direct work experience, making an interpretation able to contrast conceptual expositions that precede, prefigure and clarify the author’s intentions, with the reality of the constructed architecture; contrast which we will call “the theory of the work”. Key words: project, theory, chilean architecture, offices. En una actualidad distante y escéptica con los planteamientos teóricos, con una visión predominantemente pragmática, se pretende indagar en la relación entre la teoría y la obra construida, realizando una revisión e interpretación de algunas obras relevantes de la arquitectura chilena reciente, con la premisa que detrás de todo lo que hacemos, de forma consciente o inconsciente, traspasamos una manera de entender y responder a la complejidad de la realidad. Con este fin, nos centramos en el estudio concreto de las oficinas de Paneles Arauco, buscando contrastar los planteamientos de José Cruz Ovalle, con la experiencia directa de la obra, realizando una interpretación, que surge de contrastar los planteamientos conceptuales que preceden, prefiguran y aclaran las intenciones del autor, con la realidad de la arquitectura construida, contrastación que podemos nombrar como “la teoría de la obra”.
