A Casa com Duas Faces, de Alejandro Beautell Brunetto, Carlos Javier Castro López, David Martín The “Casa com Duas Faces (House with Two Faces)” project (2010-2012), located in La Laguna (Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain) and constructed by Alejandro Beautell, has had a significant impact on specialized international media as an interesting example of architectural restoration. The house incorporates the inherent characteristics of a modern and contemporary home, and at the same time it creates new spacious formulations that dialogue in the same space with heritage and tradition. Beautell designed the courtyard as the symbolic element of connection between spaces of modernity and tradition: ground floor and first floor. Different textures of materials are used in the project to allow us to understand this simple and sincere building, which has a minimalist utopian vocation and intimate one too, unique in the Spanish contemporary architecture. This paper analyzes and contextualizes the work of this architect at Tenerife in its vernacular framework, noting the legislative characteristics of Canarian heritage.Keywords: History of Art, architecture in Tenerife, restoration. A Casa com Duas Faces (2010-2012), localizada em La Laguna (Tenerife, Ilhas Canárias, Espanha), obra de Alejandro Beautell, já teve grande impacto na mídia internacional especializada como um interessante exemplo de restauro arquitetônico que, por sua vez, incorpora, pelas características próprias da moradia, amplas formulações da criação contemporânea que dialogam no mesmo espaço. O pátio, como elo que conecta simbolicamente a modernidade com a tradição, assim como as diferentes texturas dos materiais utilizados, permite compreender que é um prédio simples, minimalista, que abriga uma vocação utópica, mas intimista, singular no panorama espanhol contemporâneo. Este estudo avalia e contextualiza a obra do arquiteto no marco cronológico e vernáculo onde se localiza, observando as características legislativas da proteção do patrimônio histórico canário.Palavras-chave: História da Arte, arquitetura em Tenerife, restauro.
