Thus, we try to identify the different levels of significance and meanings that are closely related to architecture to find the signs that allow us to bring the concept of place into presence. “Bring into presence” means to be shown without denying the movement and natural evolution that architecture, as a sign of culture, produces. It is also the basis for the meaningful ties that the architectural work has with that pre-existing material and and that the architect uses to pose a necessary dialogue that would be meaningless without its connection with the recognition, value and activation of those ties through an allowing to appear.Keywords: bringing into presence, collective place, dialogical place, personal place. Este artículo atiende a la necesidad de profundizar en un concepto que parece debería estar fuertemente arraigado a la arquitectura y que sin embargo se encuentra cada vez más huérfano: el lugar. Para ello, nos planteamos identificar los diferentes niveles de significación y acepciones que funda en estrecha y radical relación con la arquitectura, y en base a ellos reconocer los signos que en cada ámbito nos permiten traerlo a la presencia. Este “traer a la presencia” es un mostrarse sin rechazar el propio movimiento y evolución natural que la arquitectura, como signo de la cultura que es, genera en cada una de sus intervenciones; es la base para la conformación de los lazos cargados de significado que la obra arquitectónica nombra sobre ese material preexistente y que aprovecha el arquitecto para plantear un diálogo, necesario, de encuentro, transformación u oposición, pero que sería falto de significado sin su conexión con el reconocimiento, valoración y activación de dichos lazos mediante un hacer aparecer.Palabras clave: traer a la presencia, lugar colectivo, lugar dialógico, lugar personal.
