Gaia:The current mandatory confinement experienced in Mexico, due to the COVID-19 disease,can affect people physically or psychologically, especially those who do not have theadequate hygrothermal comfort inside their homes, which it can affects their behavior andmake them feel uncomfortable.This research studies the case of Poza Rica, Veracruz, a city with a warm subhumid climate,the objective of this research was to know the level of hygrothermal comfort of people insidetheir homes before and during the mandatory confinement by SARS-CoV-2, also determinethe physical or psychological effects that can result in confinement of users in a dwelling without adequate hygrothermal comfort; and finally, if the use of active cooling systems hasincreased since the beginning of confinement.This research also provides an overview of the advantages and disadvantages of existingpassive and active strategies to achieve adequate comfort, setting out criteria and studiescarried out by various authors that will serve as a reference to analyze both types of strategies.
