The housing sector of Tijuana, Baja California istaken as the unit of analysis. A city that has undergone an accelerated urbanization processthat highlights social inequality and the quantitative and qualitative deficit in the provisionof housing, (González, 2018).For the verification of this proposal, we start from a documentary analysis that constitutesan interdisciplinary and comprehensive approach that is complemented by the realization ofa survey of the residents of Tijuana, the results reflect the commitments to design, build andinhabit, granting coordination for the full understanding of the dimensions and factors thatarchitects,the public, private and social sectors must have in mind in the face of the new normality. El presente texto se vincula al encuadre teórico de los estudios ambientales, para unentendimiento de las necesidades del usuario ante la contingencia sanitaria (COVID-19)que se atraviesa desde inicios de 2020, dejando en evidencia la vulnerabilidad social ydificultad para acatar las medidas establecidas por organismos internacionales;concretamente la invitación a permanecer en casa, solicitud que refrenda la necesidad derevisar el entendimiento de la arquitectura habitacional.Para ello se toma como unidad de análisis el sector habitacional de Tijuana, BajaCalifornia, ciudad que ha atravesado un acelerado proceso de urbanización que pone enevidencia la desigualdad social y el déficit cuantitativo y cualitativo en la dotación devivienda (González, 2008).Para la verificación de esta propuesta se parte de un análisis documental que constituye unaaproximación interdisciplinaria e integral que se complementa con la realización de unaencuesta a los residentes de Tijuana, los resultados reflejan los compromisos para diseñar,construir y habitar, otorgando coordenadas para el pleno entendimiento de las dimensionesy factores que tanto los arquitectos, el sector público, privado y social deben tener en menteante la nueva normalidad.
