This article describes the results of a research of the socialactors in Alchichica Lake in Tepeyahualco, Puebla. This lake is a crater-lake that is the homeof six endemic species, such as the stromatolits, which are considered to be the first livingorganisms in our planet.The reach of this research identifies and characterizes the social actors by defining who they are, theway they perceive tourism and the knowledge of the biological richness. The method strategy isqualitative focused in the observation and interviews in situ. El patrimonio natural es una de las riquezas que integran el vasto territorio de México. Sinembargo, gran parte de éste se encuentra amenazado por proyectos ajenos al desarrollosustentable, por turismo mal gestionado, falta de divulgación científica, por ignorancia yabuso de poder. En este artículo de describen los resultados de una investigación exploratoriade los actores sociales que intervienen en el lago de Alchichica, ubicado en el municipio deTepeyahualco, del estado de Puebla, un lago cráter que alberga seis especies endémicas ymicro-endémicas, como los estromatolitos, formas de vida que existen desde el origen delplaneta, que a consecuencia de los aspectos antes señalados se encuentra en grave riesgo dedesecación y con él la extinción de su hábitat. El alcance reportado identifica y caracteriza alos actores sociales, definiendo quiénes son, cómo perciben el turismo y los saberes de suriqueza biológica. La estrategia metodológica seguida es cualitativa, girando en torno a laobservación participante y entrevistas en el sitio.
