This urban growth represents the main cause of urban expansion for housing production, with the purpose of providing room spaces in the city; this production compromises the Sustainable Regional Development. In the city of Culiacán, housing production occurs in the form of settlement units, which are presented as Popular Colonies (CP), Open Fractions (FA) and Closed Fractions (FC). The new urban forms in the sector of Bachigualato, in the city of Culiacán, have originated in agricultural land of ejidal property, justified by the demand of society and producing housing considered sustainable by ignoring the impacts that are being caused to the environment and compromising the preservation of natural resources reserves. El crecimiento demográfico exponencial de las ciudades contemporáneas, genera cambios en las formas de producción de vivienda como respuesta a solucionar el problema urbano del habitar como un satisfactor de la población. Este crecimiento urbano, representa la principal causa de expansión urbana por producción de vivienda, con la finalidad de proveer espacios habitables en la ciudad; esta producción compromete el Desarrollo Regional Sustentable. En la ciudad de Culiacán, la producción de vivienda se da en forma de unidades de poblamiento, las cuales se presenta como Colonias Populares (CP), Fraccionamientos Abiertos (FA) y Fraccionamientos Cerrados (FC). Las nuevas formas urbanas en el sector de Bachigualato, en la ciudad de Culiacán, se han originado en territorio agrícola de propiedad ejidal, justificados por la demanda de la sociedad y produciendo vivienda considerada sustentable al ignorar los impactos que se están ocasionando al medio ambiente y comprometiendo la preservación de las reservas de recursos naturales.
