There is included theoretical background of urban studies based on city brand and urban imaginaries, which are due to the formal and aesthetical of the built space which was subsequently assimilated as a symbol that form its image produces an element provided with meaning in the local area and later globally. Also, there are included the used methodologies, which contemplate the photographic analysis, the survey as a way for the interpretation of the urban imaginary ofMonterrey’s city across private spaces, which describe perceptions of the “other” with the mentioned element. To conclude, there is a reflection about the role of urban imaginaries anchored with a reference of a brand city as an element to understand the community andsociety behaviors, and how through the reasoning of the explored visions, it is possible to explain that the urban morphology of a specific space produces and reproduce, at many scales, discourses of innovation, technology and development from constructs concerning the spatial identity. El presente expone construcciones socioespaciales en torno a la edificación emblemática denominada CETEC1, del Instituto Tecnológico de Estudios Superiores (ITESM) campus Monterrey, como resultado de una investigación cualitativa-cuantitativa. Se incluyen antecedentes teóricos de los estudios urbanos basados en marca ciudad e imaginarios urbanos, las cuales obedecen a los aspectos formales y estéticos del espacio construido que posteriormente se asimila como símbolo, que a partir de su imagen produce un elemento dotado de significado en el ámbito local y posteriormente global. Así también, se incluyen las metodologías utilizadas, las cuales contemplan el análisis fotográfico, la encuesta como medio para la interpretación del imaginario urbano de la ciudad de Monterrey a través de espacios privados, los cuales describen percepciones del “otro” con dicho elemento. Para terminar, se reflexiona sobre el papel de los imaginarios urbanos anclados con un referente de una marca como elemento para comprender los comportamientos de la comunidad y sociedad, y de cómo a través del razonamiento de las visiones exploradas, es posible explicar que la morfología urbana de un espacio específico produce y reproduce a diversas escalas discursos de innovación, tecnología y desarrollo a partir de constructos en torno a la identidad espacial.
