Although in all cases they were replaced, the old methods served to face the new conditions resulting in new extractive and transformation metallurgist constructions and new methods for drifting mining on barely develop mineral deposits in Nueva España. The study of the particularities and typology in the new constructions, allow us to know the ability to change, and the operations of this constructions in the mines that still survive. El siglo XVI trajo consigo nuevas técnicas de extracción y transformación minera, que sustituyeron a la forma antigua de trabajar las minas que se había manejado por las culturas indígenas-minería superficial y fundición con pequeños hornos- en el Nuevo Mundo. A pesar que en todos los casosse reemplazaron por completo, estos métodos sirvieron para que las tecnologías traídas de Europa se adaptaran a las condiciones del nuevo territorio, y dieran origen a la construcción de nuevos artefactos de transformación metalúrgica y a nuevos métodos para explotar los yacimientos casi intactos en la Nueva España. El estudio de las particularidades de estos artefactos, que contribuyen a la transformación de los minerales, y su tipología, confirmará que los hornos de fundición existentes en México, tuvieron cambios necesarios para su adaptación, en función de la economía y la austeridad, que enfrentaban en el nuevo territorio.
