La existencia del texto impreso y su reescritura al lenguaje fílmico es lo que anima el presente análisis que prioriza la forma y descarta cualquier posibilidad de interpretación simbólica que corre el riesgo de la especulación. En el estudio comparativo entre ambos textos se destacan las características básicas que permiten proponer la atipicidad de su adaptación y cuestionar su fidelidad a la obra original. ABSTRACTThe following review is centered on The Lost Thing (1999), the first literary work by illustrator and writer Shaun Tan and its later adaptation to the homonymous short film in 2011. The existence of the printed text adapted to animated film is what encourages the present analysis which focuses on form and gets away from any possibility of symbolic interpretations. The basic characteristics of this unconventional adaptation and the questionable attachment to the original text are the points that stand out in this comparative study.
