| Resumo: | This article analyzes the minimal curricula of the Architecture and Urbanism courses in Brazil instituted in 1962 and 1969, in order to identify how the theme of Social Interest Housing (HIS) was inserted in the field of professional training of architects in these documents. Based on a historical-documentary research, the analysis shows that the subject was intentionally neglected in the 1962 curriculum and placed in the condition of a specific, and therefore not fundamental, program in the 1969 curriculum.
