Aborda-se sobretudo a organização do campo da arquitetura, sua produção teórica, sua prática projetual e as mudanças que ocorreram ao longo da segunda metade do século XX; com especial atenção para o debate entre correntes historicistas e regionalistas que propunham o abandono dos postulados modernistas, de um lado, e correntes que propunham a retomada crítica desses postulados, de outro. This paper investigates a small portion of the possible crossings and implications of the author function as conceptualized by Michel Foucault in What is an Author ?, lecture given in 1969, especially regarding the organization of the field of architecture, it’s theoretical production, it’s design practice and the changesthat occurred during the second half of the twentieth century; with special attention to the debate between those in favor of historicist and regionalist approaches that proposed the abandonment of modernist postulates, on the one hand, and those in favor of critically bringing back these postulates, on the other.
