Concisely written and, above all, clear in its exposition of concepts, the treatise presents an objective, uniform, and "economical" diagrammatic proposition, treating with the same rigor the layout of its pages, the architectural design, and the text to compose a recognizable dialogue. In reading as a secondary text the villa projects Palladio designed over 30 years and introduced with extreme rigor in the second book, we seek to reconsider and discuss his establishment of the sound and tense link between theory and practice, idea and concreteness. A grande repercussão e a influência da arquitetura de Andrea Palladio na Europa e, posteriormente, nos Estados Unidos, deve-se à incrível capacidade comunicativa de seu tratado I Quatro Libri dell' Architettura. Escrito de maneira concisa e, sobretudo, clara na exposição de conceitos, o tratado apresenta uma proposição diagramática objetiva, uniforme e "econômica", tratando com igual rigor o diagrama das páginas, os desenhos de arquitetura e o texto, para com eles compor um reconhecível diálogo. Lendo os projetos de Vila de Palladio, elaborados ao longo de 30 anos como um outro texto, apresentado com extremo rigor no segundo livro, procuramos recolocar e discutir o saudável e tenso vínculo entre teoria e prática, idéia e concretude, em sua obra.
