This hypothesis was the starting point to direct the analysis: the socialization of monuments does not destroy the enchantment of their physical presence, meaning that they do not compete with the architecture that is seen as a reality of which the realization is space. To show how pertinent such a hypothesis is, the text discusses the concept of monument, focuses on the new media supports and their power to popularize the monument, and shows how the magnetic images are created even before architectural concretization. O objetivo central do texto é refletir sobre o conceito de monumento e sua reprodutibilidade, realizada mediante a difusão de registros fotográficos, fortemente potencializada pelos sites. Para orientar a análise, partiu-se desta hipótese: a coletivização dos monumentos não desfaz o encantamento da sua presença física, significando que não concorre com a arquitetura, compreendida como uma realidade cuja efetuação é o espaço. Para mostrar a pertinência da hipótese, o texto discorre sobre o conceito de monumento, chama a atenção para os novos suportes da mídia e seu poder de popularizar o monumento, e mostra como são geradas as imagens magnéticas antes mesmo da concretização da arquitetura.
