Combined to these concerns are also environmental requirements which standards for environmentally responsible buildings led to the creation of Buildings Environmental Performance Certification Systems, of which one of the few examples is LEED for Homes. The purpose of this research is an analysis of this certification system, aiming to establish how this tool could be efficient or not in the assessment of residential buildings for use in the Brazilian context. Lo aumento de la producción de vivienda de interés social carga la cuestión de la calidad de las unidades de viviendas asequibles. Con esas preocupaciones vienen también las necesidades de carácter ambiental, cuyos parámetros de edificios ambientalmente responsables llevó a la creación de los Sistemas de Certificación de Desempeño Ambiental de los edificios, dentre ellos uno de los pocos ejemplos dirigidos a los edificios de uso residencial es el LEED for Homes. Este estudio propone un análisis de este sistema de certificación, con el objetivo de establecer los puntos en que esta herramienta demostra ser eficaz o no en la evaluación de los edificios de vivienda en el contexto brasileño. O aumento da produção de habitações de interesse social traz consigo a problemática da qualidade de unidades habitacionais de baixo custo. Aliadas a essas preocupações surgem também as exigências de caráter ambiental, cujos parâmetros para edificações ambientalmente responsáveis deram origem à criação dos Sistemas de Certificação de Desempenho Ambiental de Edifícios, dos quais um dos poucos exemplos direcionados a edificações de caráter habitacional é o LEED for Homes. O intuito deste trabalho é uma análise desse sistema de certificação, com o objetivo de estabelecer em que pontos essa ferramenta demonstra-se eficiente ou não na avaliação de edifícios de uso habitacional no contexto brasileiro.
