Resumo:The shape grammar is an important tool that can support future research and better quality housing, especially as to deployment and urban integration. The use of generative design systems can improve a number of project routines, thus increasing its use with other informatics tools. This paper presents the results of an exploratory study using generative design system for simulation and immersion process through which one can assess the development and changes of the deployment project for social housing, caused by the variation of the rules in the created algorithms. Initially the Analytical Reading Grammar Form of a specific housing complex was carried out and, subsequently, a computational tool Parametric Shape Grammar was simulated for future studies of similar improvements in housing. This tool aims at developing innovative solutions in information and communication technology applied to construction and architecture. The results demonstrate the potential use of Shape Grammar, allowing the insertion of new parameters at each time, thus creating the prospect of flexibility in designing, therefore generating several possibilities that can be analyzed and compared during  project decision making process.
