The aim of this article is to establish conceptual and territorial basis of a system of university equipments to match the big territorial issues defined for 10 year ahead in the city related to social equity, competitiveness, academic and technique qualification of population, as well as the improvement of scientific and technologic development of the city at the prospect of the Master Plan for Higher Education defined by the Territory Ordering Plan. El presente artículo explora la posibilidad de proponer un sistema universitario urbano regional en la ciudad de Bogotá, a partir de las condiciones actuales de los equipamientos de educación superior existentes y de los proyectados, con el fin de buscar la forma de armonizarlos con el modelo urbano regional propuesto por el Plan de Ordenamiento Territorial actualizado en 2004. El objetivo de este artículo se centra en establecer las bases conceptuales y territoriales de un sistema de equipamientos universitarios, que complementen las grandes decisiones territoriales definidas por la ciudad para los próximos 10 años, en relación con equidad social, competitividad, calificación académica y técnica de la población, así como la mejora del desarrollo tecnológico y científico de la ciudad de Bogotá a la luz del Plan Maestro de Educación Superior, definido por el Plan de Ordenamiento Territorial.
