Description
Summary:The article introduces the most notable particularities of the urban laws applied in New York city and their effects in the urban image. There are two aims: to study the way the urban laws produce the form and image of the resultant city, and to evaluate the normative resource as a necessary element to develop the urban land, the activities and the building. This valuation is centred on: - The repeated attempts for controlling the diverse aspects related to the building activity. - The description of the visible results in the city. - The private or public interests, either favourable or opposite, which take part in the construction process of the urban environment.
