Sumario:Migration and urbanization are two complementarily categories on populations distribution analysis over the territory. Migration is a natural society process, as movement it shows diverse territory dimensions and different causes for it, but always related to the search of protection or better life conditions. Colombia intern migration, especially in the 60´s and 70´s, described a new population distribution map, which configured a new urban country where forced migration has played an important role during history. This article valuates the urbanization process, the relation of it with the migration phenomenon and the violence impact in the population migration towards urban areas; areas which have had to adjust its size by growing to receive the new inhabitants. These facts create particular urbanization conditions that the author advices, studies and characterizes to reach a better comprehension of the phenomenon in the country.
