This consists in the construction of seven groups of houses of progressive development in Chile. The proposal also outlines the research frame that explain the actual situation of the Colombian inhabit sector. The research, in which the proposal has born, looks for to address the public action to the assistance of the socall “social production”. This last is the productive pattern in which the population of lower income solved its access to any form of lodging, that is to say in processes of progressive development, with the purpose of contribute to make of this practice a social and environmental sustainable one, and to obtain in this way a better habitat. The research also suggest that to integrate the strengths and potentialities of the social production in the construction of its lodging, with those of the state management, in order to produce an urban ground of quality, constitutes a management format that lays between us the way to give easibility to proposals like the one that is displayed in this article. El artículo presenta la propuesta proyectual colombiana que obtuvo MENCIÓN DE HONOR en el “Concurso Mundial de Arquitectura ELEMENTAL”, para la construcción de siete grupos de viviendas de desarrollo progresivo en Chile. Igualmente esboza el marco investigativo que la explica y contextualiza en la situación actual del sector habitacional colombiano. La investigación en la que se inscribe la propuesta plantea la pertinencia de dirigir la acción pública al apoyo/ asistencia de la llamada “producción social” -patrón productivo en el que la población de más bajos ingresos viene resolviendo su acceso a alguna forma de alojamiento, en procesos de desarrollo progresivo- con el fin de contribuir a hacer de ella una práctica social y ambientalmente sostenible, y a obtener en sus productos un hábitat de calidad. La investigación plantea además que integrar las fortalezas y potencialidades de la producción social en la construcción de su alojamiento, con las de la gestión estatal para la producción de suelo urbano calificado - ya en marcha en algunas de nuestras ciudades- configura un formato de gestión que abre entre nosotros el camino para darle factibilidad a propuestas como la presentada en este artículo.
