There is an intrinsic question about the role of urban forms in this process. In some way, the centralities in Bogotá began in residential areas with residential characteristics. The transformation involves a look to the process that controls its conformation, a look to the inherent metabolism of the forms of urban space. Then, the theme is about the control dynamics of physic transformation, that is, morphological changes. El presente artículo se enmarca en el proceso de formación de centralidades en la ciudad, y particularmente en el sector del Lago-Chicó. Allí, el cuestionamiento sobre el papel que desempeña la forma urbana es intrínseco a este proceso, dado que en términos generales, las centralidades en Bogotá han surgido en áreas que fueron construidas como áreas residenciales y sus características físicas concebidas para tal fin. En este sentido el proceso de transformación implica una visión de los procesos que regulan su conformación, del metabolismo inherente a las formas del espacio urbano. Entonces el tema refiere a las dinámicas de regulación de procesos de transformación física, es decir, de cambio morfológico.
