The present research aims to get an idea of an architecture of the territory, exploring the possibilities of designing in the Magdalena’s River basin, given its current state of abandonment. Assuming the possibility of navigation, as a force capable of structuring fluvial territories, the basin is analyzed in its territorial dimension, in order to determine the dynamics operating there. In this way, the research focuses on the center region of the country, emphasizing the case of the conurbation Puerto Salgar-La Dorada, as the starting point of navigation. Hence, the investigation explores the guidelines that would outline an urban-regional project of Port, which seeks to responds to conditions as strong as the entire basin. En la investigación motivo de este texto se pretende entender una idea de arquitectura del territorio mediante la exploración de las posibilidades de un proyecto en la cuenca del Magdalena, dado su estado actual de abandono. Al asumir la navegación como una posible nueva fuerza estructurante de los territorios fluviales, se procede a analizar la cuenca en su dimensión territorial para determinar las dinámicas que en ella operan. En este camino, la investigación se ubica en la región central del país, y se enfatiza en el caso de la conurbación Puerto Salgar - La Dorada, punto de inicio de la navegación. De ahí que se exploren allí las directrices que perfilarían un proyecto urbano-regional de puerto, que responda a condicionantes tan fuertes como la totalidad de la cuenca. A pesquisa de origem deste texto visou entender uma ideia da arquitetura do território por meio da exploração das possibilidades de um projeto na bacia do rio Magdalena, devido ao seu estado atual de abandono. Assumindo a navegação como uma possível força estruturante dos territórios fluviais, procede-se a analise da bacia na sua dimensão territorial para determinar as dinâmicas que agem nela. Neste caminho, a pesquisa está focada na região central do país, e destaca o caso da conurbação “Puerto Salgar-La Dorada”, ponto do começo da navegação. É por isto que se exploram as diretrizes que perfilariam um projeto urbano-regional de porto, respondendo a condicionantes tão fortes quanto a totalidade da bacia.
