In this way we will analyze two events that, updating the Week of ‘22, impacted on the cultural life of the city and on the social production of this space. The rst one was the foundation of the São Paulo Museum of Art in 1947 and the second the creation in 1948 of the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo. In short, based on the analysis of diverse sources and from a transdisciplinary perspective – art history, sociology and studies on the city - we will give account of this material and symbolic geography, focusing on the link between city, culture and art and their mutual activation. That is, we will focus on a particular con guration of modern landscape where culture and urban history intertwined. It was the São Paulo elite that contributed, through their aspirations, to the organization, arrangement and structuring of this social space, producing ows and meeting points that are still neuralgic for the life of São Paulo

A lo largo del siglo XX fue el locus de una serie de movimientos artísticos y estéticos que la han posicionado como una ciudad referente. De este modo, analizaremos dos casos que tuvieron un gran impacto en la vida cultural de la ciudad y en la producción social de dicho espacio: la fundación del Museo de Arte de San Pablo en 1947 y la creación del Museo de Arte Moderno de San Pablo en 1948. A partir del análisis de diversas fuentes y desde una perspectiva transdisciplinaria – historia del arte, sociología y estudios sobre la ciudad– daremos cuenta de esta geografía material y simbólica, centrándonos en el vínculo entre ciudad y arte, y su mutua activación. Es decir, haremos foco en la con guración de un paisaje moderno particular en donde la cultura y la historia urbana se entrelazaron. Fue la elite paulista la que contribuyó, a través de sus aspiraciones, a la ordenación, disposición y estructuración de dicho espacio social, pro- duciendo ujos y puntos de encuentro que aún hoy en día son neurálgicos para la vida de San Pablo.  A cidade de São Paulo é considerada um importante centro cultural, não só no Brasil, mas também na América Latina. Ao longo do século XX, foi o locus de uma série de movimentos artísticos e estéticos que posicionou a São Paulo como uma cidade de referência. Assim vamos analisar dois eventos, que, no contexto de atualização da Semana do ‘22, tiveram um impacto sobre a vida cultural da cidade e da produção social do espaço. A primeiro foi a fundação do Museu de Arte de São Paulo em 1947 e o segundo a criação em 1948 do Museu Paulista de Arte Moderna. Em suma, a partir da análise de várias fontes e de uma perspectiva transdisciplinar –história da arte, sociologia e estudos sobre a cidade- vamos compreen- der esta geogra a material e simbólica e a ligação entre a cidade, cultura e arte e sua ativação mútua. Ou seja, vamos nos concentrar na con guração de uma paisagem moderna particular onde a cultura e a história urbana se entrelaçaram.
