In order to understand the different meanings associated with the change that Medellín is experiencing, this article looks at a Social Interest Housing project in buildings located in the commune 2, with the objective of knowing how to establish the social and material dimension that converges in this intervention. For this, a socio-spatial analysis was carried out based on theories such as the trialéctica of the space proposed by Henri Lefebvre, the imaginaries of Armando Silva and the reflections on the uneven accumulation of the capitalist city of David Harvey. To understand the use and significance that the inhabitants give to this project, a qualitative research was carried out using the ethnographic method, to identify which encounters and disagreements emerge when a city that seeks to increase the quality of life of Its citizens through the improvement of housing is transformed.

Medellín ha experimentando una fuerte renovación urbana durante las administraciones 2004-2011 en las que se desarrollaron los mejores proyectos de infraestructura, espacio público y vivienda en las zonas más pobres y violentas, convirtiéndola en un laboratorio especializado en temas de ciudad, mientras se proyecta como una urbe innovadora e incluyente. Para comprender las diversas significaciones asociadas al cambio que viene experimentando Medellín, este artículo dirige la mirada hacia un proyecto de Vivienda de Interés Social en edificios ubicados en la comuna 2, con el objetivo de conocer cómo se establece la dimensión social y material que confluye en esta intervención. Para esto, se realizó un análisis socioespacial basado en teorías como la trialéctica del espacio propuesta por Henri Lefebvre, los imaginarios de Armando Silva y las reflexiones sobre la acumulación desigual de la ciudad capitalista de David Harvey. Para conocer el uso y la significación que le otorgan los habitantes a este proyecto, se llevó a cabo una investigación de carácter cualitativo para identificar los encuentros y desencuentros que emergen cuando se transforma una ciudad que busca incrementar la calidad de vida de sus ciudadanos a través de la mejora de la vivienda. Medellín tem vindo a registar uma forte renovação urbana durante os 2004-2011 administrações em que desenvolveram os melhores projetos de infraestrutura, espaço público e habitação nas áreas mais pobres e violentas, convertendo-o em um laboratório especializado tópicos cidade, enquanto projetado como uma cidade inovadora e inclusiva. Para entender os vários significados associados com a mudança que tem experimentado Medellín, este artigo dirige o olhar para um projecto de habitação social em edifícios localizados na comuna 2, a fim de saber como a dimensão social e conjunto de material que vem junto esta conversa. Para uma análise socioespacial baseado em teorias como espaço trialectics propostas por Henri Lefebvre, imaginário Armando Silva e reflexões sobre a acumulação irregular da cidade capitalista de David Harvey ocorrer. Para o uso e significado que dão os habitantes deste projeto, uma pesquisa qualitativa foi realizada utilizando o método etnográfico para identificar e divergências surgem quando uma cidade se torna, que visa aumentar a qualidade de vida de seus cidadãos styling através da carcaça.
