Description
Résumé:From the territory-transport relationship arises the concept of Transit-Oriented Development (TOD), as a model of urban and territorial planning around transport systems. The objective of this paper is to formulate the strategies of a Sustainable Transit-Oriented Development (STOD) for Colombia. The methodology takes as a starting point the assessment of public policies in relation to urban alternative transport systems in the country and uses as a basis the international postulates for the establishment of the areas in which STOD should be deployed. The results raise as strategic areas to public policy, territory and environment, urban mobility and accessibility, urbanism, economy and society. It is concluded that the strong capacity of urban transformation that transport has, transcends the planning and implementation of STOD, for which comprehensive public policies are required.
