Izvleček: | In Western European countries, the reuse of post-industrial urban voids has been characterized by fostering the territorial transformation operations for the new tertiary urban areas to ensure the reproduction of capital. Nevertheless, in the early 1990s, starting with military premisis abandonment, a new typology of urban empties raised, having not reuse due to a number of factors (especially in Italy). For this reason, and in a context of crisis of the public nances, nowadays these areas represent an opportunity, in order for new types of projects to be less elitist and engage the population in the decision making. After an introduction on the reuse processes e ects of the post-industrial urban voids, the paper outlines an analysis of the management di culties of military premises in Italy go through. The state of the art regarding an unprecedented mechanism (that, in 2015, and for the first time, has opened the reuse process to public participation) will be analyzed and, eventually, a cause for re ection on the military voids role could lead to create a “city as manmade”. |
