Description
Summary:This paper analyze the urban and cultural politics promoted in the Municipality of La Plata (Argentina) between 2007-2015, to inquire about its relations with urban transformations produced in that city. We ask about which forms of city are shaped by regulations, projects and programs carried out by local governments. The different municipal managements, from a paradigm of "recovery of public space", have favored property management speculation, degradation of architectural and cultural patrimony and promoted the persecution of certain cultural and urban practices. The work departs from sociocultural studies perspective and use as material to analysis official discourses, journal notes, sanctioned regulations in the chosen period and voices of cultural organizations.
