El artículo plantea una discusión en torno a los efectos y transformaciones territoriales derivados de los IX Juegos Suramericanos realizados en la ciudad de Medellín en el año 2010 y su relación con el desarrollo urbano, las acciones de gobernanza empresarial de la ciudad, las estrategias que se circunscribe para la producción globalizada del espacio y la experiencia territorial. Describe cómo el legado de este megaevento suscitó la modificación de los usos socioespaciales en la Unidad Deportiva Atanasio Girardot, afectando la experiencia vital de un grupo de vendedores que hicieron parte de la configuración de la identidad territorial y deportiva de este sector de la ciudad. Para ello,se recuperaron los relatos de los organizadores del evento, vendedores del área y usuarios, y se analizó la documentación oficial, problematizándola desde la geografía crítica y la sociología del deporte. L'article aborde une discussion sur les effets et les transformations territoriales découlant des IXes Jeux Sud-Américains qui se sont déroulés dans la ville de Medellin en 2010 et ses relations avec le développement urbain, les actions de gouvernance d'entreprise de la ville, les stratégies qui circonscrit à la production mondialisée de l'expérience spatiale et territoriale. Il décrit comment l'héritage de ce méga-événement a entraîné la modification des utilisations socio-spatiales dans l'unité sportive Atanasio Girardot, affectant l'expérience vitale d'un groupe de vendeurs ayant participé à la configuration de l'identité territoriale et sportive de ce secteur de la ville. Pour cela, les récits des organisateurs de l'événement, des vendeurs de la région et des utilisateurs ont été récupérés et la documentation officielle analysée, en la problématisant à partir de la géographie critique et de la sociologie du sport. O artigo levanta uma discussão sobre os efeitos e as transformações territoriais derivadas dos IX Jogos Sul-Americanos realizados na cidade de Medellín em 2010 e sua relação com o desenvolvimento urbano, as ações de governança corporativa da cidade, as estratégias que são circunscreve a produção globalizada de espaço e experiência territorial. Descreve como o legado deste megaevento provocou a modificação dos usos sócio-espaciais na Unidade Desportiva Atanasio Girardot, afetando a experiência vital de um grupo de vendedores que faziam parte da configuração da identidade territorial e esportiva deste setor da cidade.
