To collect the information, an intensive review of primary sources obtained from the National Archive of Sucre was carried out, as well as a review of secondary sources, highlighting the work of researchers José de Mesa and Teresa Gisbert, together with rigorous field work aimed at Survey of the convent and the wooden architecture, in order to identify the furniture of the complex, a subject that has been scarcely or not registered to date. To fulfill the objective of this work, the history of the construction is presented, as well as the description and analysis of the convent and the temple, taking into account the influence of the altarpieces, in order to understand the relationship between the components to finish with the analysis of the exterior architecture. El objetivo de este artículo es identificar a uno de los conventos fundado por los franciscanos en Sucre como respuesta a las necesidades y requerimientos del lugar y momento histórico, realizando un análisis arquitectónico desde lo morfológico, funcional, espacial y estilístico. Para la recogida de la información se realizó una intensiva revisión de fuentes primarias obtenidas del Archivo Nacional de Sucre, así como también de fuentes secundarias destacándose los trabajos de los investigadores José de Mesa y Teresa Gisbert. Posteriormente, se realizó un riguroso trabajo de campo destinado al relevamiento del convento y de la arquitectura en madera, con el fin de identificar el mobiliario del conjunto, tema escasamente o no registrado hasta el presente. Para cumplir con el objetivo de este trabajo se presenta la historia de la construcción, la descripción y el análisis del convento y del templo tomando en cuenta la influencia de los retablos, con el propósito de entender la relación entre los componentes, para terminar con el análisis de la arquitectura exterior.
