An experimental study was conducted on grouts for tiles in order to determine consistency and water retention rates, flexural and compressive strength, water absorption by capillary and the permeability of the material, calculating the relative deviation. An experimental study was also carried out to determine grout elasticity in order to determine transverse deformation and flexural strength, comparing to patterns established by Brazilian and European standards (EN 12002). As a result it was found that the standardization of adhesives for tiles should enter its final analysis stage and that the study of elasticity for both adhesives and grouts for tiles should be widely discussed both by inter-laboratorial essays as well as in technical meetings. Este artigo trata sobre a normalização de argamassas colantes para assentamento e de argamassas para rejuntamento de placas cerâmicas. Foi realizado um estudo experimental nas argamassas para rejuntamento para se determinar o índice de consistência e da retenção de água, a resistência à compressão, a resistência à tração na flexão, a absorção de água por capilaridade e a permeabilidade do material, realizando-se o cálculo dos desvios relativos. Também foi realizado estudo experimental para a determinação da flexibilidade das argamassas, a fim de se determinar a deformação transversal e a tração na flexão, comparando-se com padrões estabelecidos pelos projetos de Norma brasileira e européia (EN 12002). Como resultado, constatou-se que a normalização das argamassas para rejuntamento merece entrar em sua fase final de análise e que o estudo da flexibilidade tanto para as argamassas para rejuntamento como para as argamassas colantes, deve ser amplamente discutido no meio técnico por meio de ensaios interlaboratoriais e discussões técnicas a respeito.
