This analysis begins with a literature review on Lean Thinking principles and core elements as a support to understand the correct application of existing tools. Potential application is examined by crossing lean core elements with each construction flow: business, design, job site, supply, use and maintenance. Existing studies are analysed within the same framework. The paper concludes by pointing out major opportunities yet unexplored, indicating that this approach is useful to identify gaps in research and applications, as well as understand the use of tools in a broader context, supporting the adaptation of Lean Thinking to construction. Este trabalho visa identificar, de maneira sistemática, as oportunidades de aplicação do Lean Thinking (Mentalidade Enxuta) no setor da construção como um todo, bem como comparar o potencial de aplicação dos princípios e ferramentas lean com abordagens sugeridas em estudos já desenvolvidos. Para esta análise, parte-se da identificação, a partir da literatura, dos princípios e elementos fundamentais do Lean Thinking como forma de se entender a correta aplicação das ferramentas disponíveis. As oportunidades de aplicação são então abordadas, cruzando-se os princípios e elementos fundamentais e os fluxos da construção: negócios, projeto, obra, suprimentos, uso e manutenção. Alguns estudos realizados são analisados em relação a esta estrutura de referência.
