The concern about the position of sensors has been pointed out by post-occupancy studies, in which the users must cohabit with the equipment without affecting the results. Measurements of air temperature in a building constructed in wood and another in masonry were performed, placing the sensor in the centre of the environment and next to sun-exposed surfaces. For each position in the room, sensors were placed in three heights; and, for each height, protected and not protected from thermal radiation, resulting in 18 points of measurement in each building. The results have been analyzed to verify the conformity of these with the specifications of technical standards that establish places and heights for these measurements: PNBR 02:136.01 - 001, ASHRAE 55 and ISO 7726. The results are in agreement with those standards, which indicate the centre of the room and height of 1.10m as being representative of the whole environment. The results also showed a greater influence of the measurement place in the building with masonry walls. Este artigo avalia a influência da posição dos equipamentos de medição de temperatura do ar no ambiente interno. A preocupação com a disposição dos equipamentos tem sido apontada por estudos de avaliação pós-ocupação, segundo os quais os usuários devem conviver com os equipamentos sem influenciar nos resultados. Foram realizadas medições da temperatura do ar em uma edificação em madeira e outra de alvenaria, dispondo-se os equipamentos de medição no centro do recinto e próximo às fachadas com insolação. Para cada disposição em planta, colocaram-se equipamentos de medição em três alturas; e, para cada uma das alturas, colocaram-se equipamentos protegidos e não protegidos da radiação, o que resultou em 18 pontos de medição por edificação. Analisaram-se os resultados visando a verificar a conformidade deles com as especificações de normas técnicas, que recomendam disposições e alturas: PNBR 02:136.01-001, ASHRAE 55 e ISO 7726. As análises apontaram concordância com as normas que indicam localização central e altura de 1,10 m do piso como sendo representativa de todo o ambiente. Os resultados também mostraram maior influência da disposição dos equipamentos na edificação em alvenaria.
